13 Oct 2005 20:43:42 GMT "Miguel Luce" <p7ifqbdyi-4qjvf2j2mc3r.ml@ml.delegate.org>

Hello,

I'm currently using version 8.5.5 of delegate.
I need to allow FTP access to client connecting to external via proxy server in which delegate is install.
I'd already tried different configurations:

* First one:
Without any spefic configuration of FTP service.
    According to documentation this should allow FTP

Result:

* Second one :

Declaring following specific setting for FTP service:

Configuration file /etc/delegate/ftp.conf    contains following:

    PORT    = address:21
    CACHE   = no
    PERMIT="ftp:*:*"
    MOUNT="/* file:/tmp/*"
    RELAY=no

Result:
    User can't download file.

* Third one:

Following action was performed:

Command executed on proxy server:

 delegated -P8021 SERVER=ftp

1) Connecting on local proxy server

 Name (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:user): anonymous
331- Guest login ok, enter your E-mail address as password.
331  Default value is: ?
Password:
230- Guest login ok, your E-mail address is xxxx@xxxx
230 Now you can select a FTP SERVER by cd //SERVER
ftp>cd //<ftp site>

Result:
Download OK.

2) Download from PC client connected via proxy server
Result:
Download not possible.

Could you provide me good procedure to follow.

Waiting your feed back.

Best Regards.

I need to allow ftp connection from PC client via proxy server.

Delegate FTP was launched as following:

delegated -P8021 SERVER=ftp MOUNT="/* file:/tmp/*"

Currently:

While connecting to proxy server:

Connected to <server_adress> (<server_adress>).
220- se-proxy PROXY-FTP server (DeleGate/8.5.5) ready.
220-   @ @
220-  ( - ) { DeleGate/8.5.5 (May 23, 2003) }
220- AIST Product ID: 2000-ETL-198715-01, H14PRO-049

220- You can connect to a SERVER by `user' command:
220-    ftp> user username@SERVER
220- or by `cd' command (after logged in as an anonymous user):
220-    ftp> cd //SERVER
220- Cache is enabled by default and can be disabled by `cd .' (toggle)
220- This (proxy) service is maintained by 'root@localhost'
220-extended FTP [MODE XDC][XDC/BASE64]
220
Name (XXXX.XXXX.XXXX.XXXX:user):

After anonymous connecting

ftp> user anonymous
331- Guest login ok, enter your E-mail address as password.
331  Default value is: ?
Password:

230- Guest login ok, your E-mail address is <xxxxx@xxxx..>
230 Now you can select a FTP SERVER by cd //SERVER

Could you provide right configuration to implement in order to sovle this probleme.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards
